Spitzkoppe is situated 160 km east from Swakopmund, in the Damaraland region. These rock formations get peak at 1728m above sea level, and form a spectacular view. We highly recommended to for for a trek and enjoy the interesting shapes and beautiful scenery. Take your time to explore the area and its delightful calmness. Keep an eye on the ever changing colour of the rock, specially during sunrise and sunset, when they acquire intense red shades.
In several places in Spitzkoppe you’ll find ancient bushman paintings. The most impressive one is the one called “Bushman Paradise”.
The Spitzkoppe Restcamp lies at the base of the mountain. It is owned and maintained by the local community, and therefore all the money spent here is going to revert on the local economy. The prices are about N$ 30 per person per night for camping and N$ 10 for the car. If you sleep in a bungalow, it costs around N$ 110 – N$ 130.
